Celio Theory
Celio Theory began his Classical music journey in the 7th grade concert band, which continued through high school. His love of music and eagerness to learn earned him the 1st Clarinet positions at both Parsons Junior High School and Hillcrest High School. He coincidently ended up playing clarinet because his father bought him one the summer leading up to junior high school. In this band environment is where he took his music education and began composing his own songs for clarinet.
After high school, he continued composing here and there, but picked it up again while studying music theory at Fordham University and hasn’t put it down since. At Fordham, he learned to play piano, which broadened his music range for all instruments. All of Celio’s composing is still done on paper, but played through MIDI. Through the use of this method, he created his own sound, combining acoustic and electronic pianos with a synthesizer.
The name Celio Theory came together from two sources. First, Celio is the original name of his grandfather, who was mistakenly name Sergio on his birth certificate. Although he lived his life as Sergio, his name was legally changed after his passing. The second, Theory, comes from the study of music. Celio Theory is the name Eddie S.G. uses when releasing Classical music.
